Tall Basin Mixers

Compare tall basin mixers for basin layouts that need additional outlet height. Check the spout outlet height and reach against the basin rim, bowl position and worktop, as well as the tap’s overall height. Confirm the mounting-hole requirements, available space behind the basin and finish. Use the exact mixer and basin drawings together when planning a countertop installation.

Read reach and height as separate measurements

Tall basin mixers differ in proportions even when their appearance is similar. The Blutide Satin high basin mixer in brushed stainless steel lists a 176 mm reach and 273 mm supplier-listed height; the Lace high basin mixer in brushed brass lists 170 mm reach and 282 mm height. These are examples to compare with a drawing, rather than standard dimensions for the category. A useful selection places the water comfortably within the bowl while leaving room to wash and operate the lever.

Allow space below and behind the worktop

The visible mixer is only part of a countertop installation. The listed Satin and Lace examples include two 350 mm braided inlet tubes with 1/2-inch connections, so check the route to the supply valves and space for the fixing assembly. Keep drawers and stored items clear of the planned plumbing. Compare the specified aerator and flow information for the chosen reference, and ask how the aerator and operating parts are accessed for future servicing.

Will any tall basin mixer suit a countertop basin?

Check both products rather than choosing by height alone. The outlet needs suitable clearance and reach for the exact bowl and tap position. Confirm the planned mounting location and water connections with your installer before ordering.

What should I check if the tap mounts directly on the basin?

Use the basin’s tap-hole and mounting specifications, then confirm that the selected mixer is intended for that arrangement. Compare the base dimensions, outlet position and fixing requirements. A taller model is not automatically the right match for every basin.
